FDI in the United States, Fourth Quarter 2017
Foreign direct investment totaled nearly $60 billion in the fourth-quarter 2017, an eight percent decrease from third-quarter 2017.
International companies employ 7.1 million U.S. workers, providing compensation that is 26 percent higher than the economy-wide average. They are responsible for one-in-five of all U.S. manufacturing jobs. In fact, 54 percent of the manufacturing jobs created in the past five years came from international companies.
