The Room to Grow Report: Identifying New Frontiers for Apprenticeships is an independent effort by researchers Joseph B. Fuller and Matthew Sigelman of Managing the Future of Work Project at Harvard Business School and Burning Glass Technologies. The report underscores the importance of apprenticeships and workforce development programs that do not require higher education. Apprenticeships have bipartisan support as a promising alternative to bring young people into the workforce, especially in areas where there's a shortage of technical skills. The report highlights the lack of active civilian apprenticeships in comparison to the millions of job postings each year and serves to explore the full potential for apprenticeships in the U.S. economy.
