FDI in the United States, Quarter Three 2020
Foreign direct investment in the United States totaled $44.2 billion in the third-quarter 2020. This is up 81 percent from the previous quarter.
International companies grow America’s economy and make it more resilient through activities such as supporting local supply chains and small businesses, fueling American innovation, developing workforce training programs, exporting American-made goods and committing to charitable and sustainable developments. These investments also mean the international company’s home country has a stake in America’s success, which supports our economy and furthers U.S. foreign policy interests. Nationally, 7.9 million U.S. workers are employed by international companies.
